Admission Office Assessments

Admission Offices at independent schools need to be as externally focused on trends, market indicators and marketing as they need to be internally focused on their school’s day-to-day operations. If a school is interested in learning about the effectiveness of the school’s communications, assessing the current message and frequency of contacts can be of use. Following are ways in which the Baker Group assists clients in achieving this external and internal balance to effectively market their schools and ensure the current infrastructure can support enhanced marketing efforts:

  • Assess the general Admission Office organization/infrastructure
  • Outline job functions and develop job descriptions
  • Review staffing and office budget
  • Assess the operation’s paper flow
  • Review communications and the communications plan of the office and the school, includes an assessment of all admission publications and other printed materials (letters, application, materials) and an assessment of the school’s web site
  • Assess use of technology
  • Assist with the development of admission office goals and objectives
  • Determine if the current infrastructure of the admission office can support increased marketing efforts.
  • Assess volunteer efforts.
